To pin apps to the taskbar
Jan 21, 2019 Thanks to System Integrity Protection (SIP)—an Apple security feature—personalizing your Mac with deep system tweaks is not possible. But there are still other ways to spruce up your macOS desktop. On that note, let’s see how to customize your Mac in seven easy steps. Start With a Brand New W. In the Stickies app on your Mac, choose File New Note. To add a picture or PDF, drag a file to your note. Your content is saved automatically. The first line of the note is shown in the title bar when you collapse the note. To customize your note, do any of the following: Change the note color: Choose a color from the Color menu. Replacing your icons is one of the easiest ways to customize Mac Desktop. This is perfect for files and folders. Before you start replacing your icons on the Desktop, make sure your files are neat and organized. Clean up your junk files and folders with Tweakbit MacRepair so your desktop is easier to tidy up.
- Press and hold (or right-click) an app, and then select More > Pin to taskbar.
- If the app is already open on the desktop, press and hold (or right click) the app's taskbar button, and then select Pin to taskbar. Open windows apps on mac online.
Note: To remove a pinned app from the taskbar, open the app's Jump List, and then select Unpin from taskbar.
To add shortcuts to the desktop
- Press and hold (or right-click) the desktop, then select New > Shortcut.
- Enter the location of the item or select Browse to find the item in File Explorer.
Notes:
- To delete a shortcut from your desktop, press and hold (or right-click) it, then select Delete.
- If you delete a shortcut, only the shortcut is removed, not the original item.
- You can't create shortcuts for Windows Store apps.
